- Innovation Initiative Description
- Initiative in one line
- A zero waste food delivery platform designed for companies and workplaces, that guarantees a future-proof office food solution.
- Description
-
The project aims to build an innovative Zero Waste Food Delivery Platform that connects local producers, restaurants and conscious food providers directly to the companies and workplaces, delivering food in reusable containers.
The main objectives of the project are:
- Providing a future-proof office food solution though a flexible platform that can scale up and down according to business needs and budget;
- Reducing to zero the environmental impact throughout the supply chain;
- Providing the clients with certified Impack Reports, which quantify and highlight all positive environmental impact and the overall social impact of the service in terms of CO2 emissions, amount of packaging waste diverted from landfills, water reduction, consumption of land avoidance, along with insightful data analysis.
- Implementation
-
1. Build the digital Zero Impack B2B food delivery platform with the following main features: flexible payments for the companies, daily or weekly meal planning, real-time tracking of reusable containers through QR technology, data-driven approach to optimize food delivery based on customers preferences.
2. Set up operations and reverse logistics to ensure a zero-emission delivery and pick-up, as well as containers traceability.
3. Quantify the environmental impact through Life Cycle Assessment approach and generate certified data with blockchain technology.

- How the project contributes to building a resilient, inclusive and sustainable society
-
The diverse challenges and interlinked uncertainties of climate change demand societies to reinvent themselves, become more and more flexible and adopt new integrated and inclusive solutions. Our project aims to change the rules of a consolidated service such as food delivery, built on a linear economy model that is extremely polluting due to single-use packaging. We aim to change the paradigm transforming food delivery into a circular model, where environmental impacts are reduced to zero. Our goal is to building a healthier and more resilient future for people and nature, rethink the way we produce, distribute and consume energy, food, water and how we protect our common goods. Our model is built on the "Reduce Rethink and Reuse" philosophy, as both solution and a preventative approach to environmental challenges in front of us.
